We are about 100 miles N.E. of Spokane.
Every year the 3 rd weekend in July is the Poker
Paddle from Usk to Ione you can rent a canoe or
kayak from us.
The 4 th weekend in July is Down River Days in
Ione. Two big celebrations full of activities and
interesting things to see and do.
PLACES TO STAY
For a fee there is the Mt Linton RV &Trailer Park
in Metaline. They have showers and laundry facilities. 509 446 4553
There is free camping areas on the river at Boundary Dam and at Box Canyon Dam. Both have a great swimming areas.
There are fee Camping areas around Sullivan Lake

OTHER THINGS TO DO
Mill Pond interpretive walk, is a short and historical hike to tour and a fee camping area at the other end of the pond.
In season with proper knowledge and one of the State Fish and Water hand books in your posession, prospecting for gold can be done in the area.
Gardener Cave at Crawford State Park is a guided tour BASED ON EVOLUTION and is a lovely natural lime stone cave. It is about 500 feet long and a Beautiful sight to see it is open between Memorial Day and Labor day weekend. It is the only cave of its kind in the United States. Take a jacket and a flashlight the cave is lite but there are lots of interesting crevices to shine your light into and it is 41 to 43 degrees in the cave. Wen.-Sun. times are 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm

Be prepared for a longer hike just in case the signs are down.
There are public and private camping areas on the river near Ione behind Box Canyon Dam is perfect for skiing, inner tubing and personal water craft.
Triploids have been introduced into the river system and their growth rate is tremendous. They are sterile and do not reproduce. They are good fishing but Mary does not like their taste.
The Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Ceders and Scenic Area is a short drive away on Forest Service Roads or a half days drive away on the
International Selkirk International Loop. WHAT A TRIP! Make sure and call the Forest Service at both ends to see if the road is out.
